We have seen a lot of thing moving digital this year, and taking the trend forward the NTLF 2021 was launched in its virtual avatar. There couldn’t have been a better way to launch the virtual edition with our very own Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi who is the torch bearer of the Digital India, doing the keynote address. And it was such a proud moment for the Indian Technology Industry when he said Jab pura desh ghar main simat gaya tha, aap ghar se duniya chala rahe the”. In other words – “when the chips were down.. it was the technology industry’s code that kept the world going”.

He also highlighted how he proud he is of the citizens of the country, the start-ups, innovators and the whole ecosystem which have shown India’s leadership to the world. For Indian startups he had a strong message that would help them lead – Move beyond #valuations and #EXIT #strategy create institutions that can outlive this century and products that set benchmarks for global excellence, without this we will always be a follower.

In his address he also highlighted the importance of skill development – “In Education & Skill Development, tech industry needs to find solutions for masses that are accessible to all. Through Atal Tinkering Labs & Atal Incubation Centres, learning technology in schools & colleges has been made possible.

Honestly this defines an awesome start to NTLF which was followed by a vote of thanks by Pravin Rao, Infosys who highlighted the fabulous digital journey of India in 2020 and said technology is the brahmastra for the next decade. With Arvind Krishna, IBM highlighting cybersecurity as the threat in the newnormal and its not a surprise when nations are being build on digital economy.

We had an interesting line of speakers from Steve Brown who gave the top technology and importance of human and machine collaboration from maximizing productivity to Jen Easterly, Morgan Stanley who said that the technology investment is important but the most important investment remains in the right set of people. Cybersecurity, customer centricity and emerging technologies remained the key highlight for the day.
